A Family To Belong

A Family To Belong

One of the greatest tragedies in life is the absence of a father’s love. Without it, we close our hearts off to real love, and we find our comfort somewhere else. We are afraid to trust, so we become independent and self-reliant.  We fear that if we place our trust in others, we will be rejected, so to protect ourselves we close our hearts to receiving love…. And yet, there we are, longing so much to be loved and accepted.

To have a father who loves us, a home where we are safe, secure and protected, that’s the longing in the hearts of all children, orphans and many adults.

And God knew this all along. God desires that we find our home in Him, that we would call Him Father.

From the beginning of time, our Father in Heaven has been longing – pursuing – for an intimate, personal relationship with you as His beloved child. (see John 1:12; Galatians 3:26)

When you experience – not just know, but experience – the Father’s love, your heart is at rest. You experience peace, safety and security. You know you belong, and you are free from shame and self-condemnation. You can walk in honor and humility, instead of seeking your own agenda. And you submit to God’s mission for you, because you will do what you see your Father doing – to love others just as He loves.

The key to “Loving God, Loving People, Changing the World”?

Experiencing the Father’s love toward you.

Reflect on This:

What would your life be like if you had a heart totally open to love, and there was no fear of trusting or rejection?

You can ask God today to help you intimately experience His love and peace. He will answer you and will not reject you.

Take This to Heart:

Moreover, I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you.” Leviticus 29:45
