His Peace for My Chaos

His Peace for My Chaos

Peace, or in Hebrew “shalom”, is not just the absence of conflict or war. “Shalom” means made completely whole, without chaos or confusion.  So peace is missing when our relationships are broken, or our lives are incomplete, or something in us is out of alignment.

When Jesus told his disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you”, it meant there was a divine exchange.

My peace I give you

That Jesus gave peace means we didn’t have it before He gave. Before Jesus entered the picture, our lives were chaotic and messy. Our relationship with God was broken and we were at war with Him. Then Jesus died on the cross and took all our brokenness and sin upon him. He reconciled us to the Father and gave us peace with God. Jesus healed everything in us that was broken and He restored us to wholeness.

My peace I leave with you

Peace is Jesus’ gift to us, and He meant for it to stay with us. When you find yourself becoming confused or scared or troubled, just ask Jesus to give you His peace, and He will give it. He will take away your worry and fear, and you will be able to trust Him even when things don’t make sense, or you don’t get your answers yet. And when you’re done praying, you will say “amen” with peace in your heart because you will know: He will restore, heal, prosper and make things right.

God’s Promise:
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!” Luke 2 :14

God’s Blessings:
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.  2 Thessalonians 3:16
