His Presence for Our Boldness

When we got saved, most of us were taught that heaven and hell is real, that Jesus is the only way through whom we can get to heaven, and that we are to live our lives fully submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. But not all of us who got saved were taught that all of us are called to do great and mighty things for the Kingdom of God. ALL OF US, not just a select few or “chosen ones” in leadership positions in the church, are called to bring heaven on earth in the here and now.

Exodus 4:10-12 New Living Translation (NLT)

10 But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”

11 Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”

Like Moses, we sometimes ask God, “Who are we to do these things?” We question our own qualifications and look at our own faults to downplay ourselves, and in doing so, we fail to look at our own identity in Christ. We were made in the image of God and so who we are is defined by how God sees us and calls us to be.

God is telling us, “It doesn’t matter what you can and can’t do, for I will certainly be with you.” It is not about our own abilities and our own strength but rather our willingness to be used. God is not looking for strong and qualified people, but people who are willing to yield to His commands out of their own commitment to love and chase after His heart.

For God’s Word is spirit and life. “It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV)

So when the Lord calls us to do something, do not fear, for He will certainly be with us. His Presence will be more than enough to defeat the giants and seemingly immovable mountains that we might face.

Prayer: Abba Father, open our hearts and our ears so that when we hear Your voice, we would be able to yield to Your command as You direct our steps. Soften our hearts to always submit to Your promptings as You reveal Your way, for Your way is always good and incomparable and Your ways see through eternity! Amen.
