The Fragrance of You

The Fragrance of You

There was a woman who kissed Jesus’ feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair and poured perfume on His head.  Jesus carried the smell of that expensive perfume when He walked out of that room. That scent wafted after him everywhere, and people knew where he had been just by following that fragrance.

Well, guess what? That woman came smelling like Jesus too, when she walked out of that room.

Jesus Christ has a sweet swelling fragrance. His life, death and resurrection are a pleasant offering to the Father on our behalf, and it is a soothing aroma to the LORD. Likewise, God finds attractive those who are seeking Him and smelling like His Son.

Are you drawn to Jesus’ scent? He is fragrant to those who seek after Him. God promises that if we earnestly, sincerely desire to know and spend time with Jesus, we will find Him. We will look and smell like Him.

What fragrance do you carry? Let it that godly character and fruit of the Spirit that is making you holy, lovely, blameless and pure like Jesus.

Do people sense God’s presence when you walk into the room? Let that same godly character attract others to Jesus.  Though we are ordinary men, let people be astonished and recognize us as people who ‘have been with Jesus’.

Are you offensive to the enemy? We don’t fight against flesh and blood, so we must be the smell of death and destruction to everything that stands against the name of Jesus, even as we seek to rescue those who are enslaved by the enemy.

Reflect on This
May we always take the effort to become fragrant before the Lord, and to spread that sweet, saving aroma of Him everywhere.

Take This To Heart
“But thanks be to God, who always parades us triumphantly in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.”  (2 Corinthians 2:14-15)
