Our church has an impossible assignment. We are commanded to love the Lord God first and above all, to love people like Jesus loves, and to change the world for Christ. All of these are humanly impossible to accomplish by our strength or power!!!

But when God gives an impossible assignment, He equips and empowers for that assignment to be accomplished. He provides all the resources of heaven for us to obey that command and fulfill our destiny.  Now you know why God gave us a promise at the very start –

“It’s not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.”

We need the Holy Spirit to be in us and upon us… and He is, isn’t He? The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us! The Holy Spirit isn’t just in you for display or deposit. He is in you so others can see Him. The Holy Spirit is in you, and He wants out. He wants others to see that you are transformed, and that you love Him with everything you got, and that love you have for people is the same love Jesus has. The Holy Spirit is in you so others will say “Surely, the Lord is with that person.”

Because God has given us a humanly impossible assignment, He gives us the Holy Spirit. Immanuel God is with us. And if God is for us, who can be against us? Is anything too hard for the Lord?

So, be ready. This is the Year of Activation.  And Immanuel God is with us.

 

“You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him…” Acts 10:38

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” John 14:12-14
