Who Can You Trust?

Who Can You Trust?

TRUST. It’s the reason why most of us try to figure everything out on our own, do things our way, solve our problems ourselves. We trusted others, and they failed us. We’ve been disappointed, betrayed and disillusioned. So, we trusted only ourselves, but unfortunately we fail ourselves too! We disappoint ourselves, we betray our own convictions and we get disillusioned with our own inadequacies. AND, to make things worse – we disappoint others too and we betray their trust of us. So if we can’t trust ourselves, if we can’t trust others to come through for us—who can we trust?

God. Because He is uniquely the only one who is faithful and will never be unfaithful. God is trustworthy.

God is faithful to Himself. He is consistent and true to Himself, so what He says and does will always line up with His character. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  He is constant and true, so when He says He will never leave you, He doesn’t and He won’t. What He says He will do, He will do. He doesn’t play favorites, and He doesn’t turn anyone away. Everyone who seeks Him will find Him. So you can trust what He says, because He will do it.

God is faithful to you. How did God prove He is faithful and trustworthy to you? God said He will give His Son as salvation for everyone – and He did! And if God did not spare His own Son Jesus, but gave Him up for us all, won’t He also give us everything else? That’s why you can trust Him.

God is faithful, and He will always come through for you. Maybe today you felt like He didn’t hear your prayers, but He does, and in His perfect time, He will answer you. He will provide for you and He will bless you. He will supply all your needs (see Phil. 4:19) You can trust God.

Reflect on this:
Maybe there is one thing troubling you this week that you can trust God with?  Maybe all you need to do is ask Him, instead of trying to solve it yourself.

What would your life look like if you trusted God more?

Take this to heart:
Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5-6
