Joy is infectious. So are hope, love, peace and faith. Have you noticed how fun it is to be around people who are joyful, who laugh all the time and have such a light and positive outlook of their lives? You actually get a shock when they tell you the difficult trials that they’re going through, because their disposition is so different from their reality… or… could it be they’re approaching life from a different perspective of reality?
Jesus was the same. He was infectious. His level of hope, joy, peace, faith and love was completely different from those around him. He slept in a storm that even seasoned veteran fishermen got scared of! He woke up, spoke peace to the storm and it ended. Why is that? Remember, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. In His Father’s Kingdom, peace is the atmosphere. In that Kingdom, there is no frustration, fear, depression, anger, resentment or brokenness. Jesus carried peace within him, and that peace infected the earth where he walked. He spoke peace from out of that Kingdom reality and it defeated whatever storm he was in.
If you give fear, depression, anger and hopelessness the main stage in your life, they will affect your surrounding. And soon enough, you’ll be a self-fulfilling prophecy of what you confess and carry.
BUT the true nature of the Christian takes on the image of Jesus. As born again believers, we have been given the Holy Spirit as a deposit, a seed, and within Him are the fruit of love, joy, peace… the more we cultivate and abide in the Spirit, the bigger this fruit grows from out of us. When you carry His peace, His love, His faith, His joy, you can speak to any storm and impossibility and they will bow to the name of Jesus.
This is how we can obtain personal victories and external breakthroughs now. We learn to live from a different reality called the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Activation: This week, focus on one fruit of Holy Spirit and practice showing out that fruit. Ask Him what He wants you to focus on, so you flow with what He’s doing in you. Then pray and believe that He will give you divine opportunities so you can become that fruit more and more. God is able and He is faithful.
Take this to heart:
“But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.
Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus, the Anointed One, have already experienced crucifixion. For everything connected with our self-life was put to death on the cross and crucified with Messiah. We must live in the Holy Spirit and follow after him.”
