What would you do if Jesus Himself said to you that this is the year of your breakthrough?

Would you doubt it? Would you sit back and watch and wait to see if it comes to pass? Or would you actively prepare for it?

At the start of his public ministry, Jesus said that He has come to share good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, free the prisoners, give sight to the blind, set the burdened, oppressed and battered free, and to announce the year of the Lord’s favor. (see Luke 4:18-21).

So to us who are poor, brokenhearted, imprisoned, blind, oppressed, burdened and needing God’s favor—Jesus has good news! Because He also said that we no longer have to wait. All the promises of breakthrough have begun to come starting that day that He said it. Freedom, recovery, healing and favor are upon us.

So if every year hence is the year of God’s favor, then 2017 also is your year of favor and breakthrough!

So instead of waiting to see it happen, let’s prepare ourselves so we are able to recognize when breakthrough starts to come. Prepare yourself so you are ready to receive what God has prepared in advance for you.

Seek God. Ask. Knock. Call on Him. Listen to Him. Trust Him. Stretch out your hand and open them. This is the year of breakthrough.

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
     I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
     I will be with him in trouble,
     I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
     and show him my salvation.”
