What’s Trending on Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving rush. It is the busiest travel day of the year. There are big crowds at the grocery stores as families prepare perhaps the biggest feast of the year. The average cook will get anxiety attacks trying to broil, fry or stuff turkey, make side dishes and bake pies of all kinds. And then, there’s football. At home among friends and opposing fans, or in the stadiums, football is big deal.

AND don’t forget Black Friday deals to sort out before stores open 8pm on Thanksgiving!!

(Pause.)

In the rush to squeeze the most out of this 4-day holiday, let’s not forget to BREATHE. Inhale deeply. Exhale slowly. Breathe.

And maybe in slowing down, perhaps we pause long enough to realize what Thanksgiving is all about:

Giving-Thanks
“All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15

“Let us praise the Lord for his unfailing love and for the wonderful things He has done for us. For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Psalm 107:8-9

Reflect On This:
As the holiday approaches, what have you been anxious, worried or feel rushed about? Take that to God, and watch Him bring peace and calmness to your week.

And then, give thanks.

Take This To Heart:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
